MEDIC FIRST AID© and CPR
MEDIC FIRST AID Basic is a fundamental training program in emergency care designed with the occupational provider in mind. The MEDIC FIRST AID approach results in a continuity of care as the patient is passed from MEDIC FIRST AID provider to EMT to Nurse or Physician
- CPR and other important emergency care skills (basic life support, controlling bleeding, injury and illness assessment and shock management) are combined into a single course.
- Students learn the same priorities of care and approach to the patient used by professional emergency care providers.
- Students learn to protect self and patient by receiving important information and training in Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Use of Talk-Through Scenarios allows students to apply knowledge and skills they have learned to simulate a real-life event.
- The MEDIC FIRST AID training system uses a seeing, hearing, and doing approach to make learning easier and helps create retention. As a result, students develop confidence in their ability to respond to an actual emergency
MEDIC FIRST AID should be considered a core program suitable to most work sites. The core program can be supplemented with information on additional first aid topics specific to an occupation or industry.
